    Description

For the development and production of the 1991 Dan Aykroyd comedy-horror-fantasy film Nothing But Trouble, the producers developed a bizarre setting for the fictional town of Valkenvania. With a dilapidated courthouse sitting in the middle of a junk yard, on condemned land subject to burning coal fires in mines dug under the property decades earlier, the story takes the characters portrayed by Chevy Chase and Demi Moore into a bizarre Alice in Wonderland meets an evil Willie Wonka with a side reference to the antics of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre family.
Based on an actual town subject to ongoing subterranean fires since the 50s, this story combines the problematic aftermath of both bankers who took advantage of the judge and the trouble caused by those passing through. The 106-year-old Justice of the Peace Alvin Valkenheiser, portrayed by Dan Aykroyd, decides to imprison those he deems of interest with his slanted value system, and his desire to carry out his revenge on bankers and their associates.
Purchased in 2016, this is the only known jacket to surface in this new condition and color, and sized with an XS tag, it was produced apparently larger. One of less than 3 dozen provided by the film's producer, these jackets were only supplied to the lead cast members and top members of the production, with actual patches applied that were made for the production, specifically for the wardrobe of the Constable Dennis Valkenheiser played by John Candy and his deputy, identifying their police presence of the fictional town of Valkenvania. This jacket was produced for one of the actors.
Consisting of nylon with purple suede sleeves, the embroidery is detailed with text and symbols representing the town, police cruiser application, and courthouse as conceived for the story. No apparent flaws are present. Jacket appears to have never been worn.
As a highly underrated film, the production work of many artists produced a heavily detailed canvas under Production Designer William Sandell, then just finishing the 1990 Total Recall film, with Dean Cundy of The Thing behind the camera, producing exceptional work representing the extreme side of content in a haunted house that many have missed to view, and still lacks a release today formated in HD.
