    Description

For the development and production of the film Firefox released in 1982, the crew assigned worked to develop the experimental jet represented in the Clint Eastwood film through may iterations.
This item is a vintage production-produced schematic plan developed for the final versions made in differing sizes shown in many of the scenes representing the jet for the film and produced by the hired effects house Apogee. Based on the initial designs produced by Greg Jein and then art director Bill Creber through Doug Trumbull's Entertainment Effects Group and Eastwood's direction, Apogee was enlisted in February 1981 through negotiations by Eastwood with John Dykstra to take the helm for the visual effects regarding the Firefox jet. For John Dykstra, one of the founding members of the now closed Apogee, he and others who participated on Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica, like Grant McCune, came with experience to bring vessels of flight to the screen.
The schematic art represents both the miniature models built for special effects photography, and the full-size version built for the production. Depicting plan and elevation views, the production art includes call-outs for the various onboard weapons bays and types of arsenal proposed. The drawing is a processed-blue-line, or dye-line, known as blueprints, produced by Apogee with company stamp representing the updated weapons systems, drawn and completed 40 years ago by Grant McCune on March 2, 1981.
The condition is aged with some darkening of the processed-paper, wrinkles from rolled state, some tearing at edges, with two pinholes from prior mounting at top, some creasing from prior folded state, with all corners intact and surface wear from 40 years of rolled storage. Acquired in 2008, this is one of two purchased at the time, with the other having different condition.
    Sheet size is 24"x 36".
    A COA will be supplied.
This is just one of many examples Hollywood Cargo is listing of the different steps of motion picture development, production and promotion processes with other items associated to Firefox to be listed.
