Description
For the development and production of the 1986 James Cameron film, Aliens, a talented team of cast and crew members helped to bring the world of the characters to life in the first sequel to the 1979 film Alien by Ridley Scott. This is a production-supplied varsity-style crew jacket for the team featuring the film's early title art on front in blue and with the rear featuring the same logo appearing on the drop-ships of the Marine division's U.S. Sulaco carrier. The logo, drawn by the film's concept artist Ron Cobb, features an eagle landing with large combat boots firing an assault rifle with the words, "We Endanger Species", under the title "Bug Stomper", a particular stab at the species of aliens they would face in the film.
Now over 35 years old since production, tagged L for large size, this jacket still retains it's assembled integrity with no tears or stains with the primary wool composition. All snaps are functional with four having wear and loss of the black surface treatment. Collar, cuffs and waist band elastic is functional. the quilted pattern liner has loose stitching present at the lower rear area, with the silk-screened Aliens title showing signs of wear. Stored away since purchased in 2014 in sealed packaging, this jacket remains in the condition it was when purchased.
